If you're on Windows, just stop the render, close POV, and your computer if
you like.
When start POV again, go to menu>render>rerun>continue.
Make a copy of partially rendered image before, just for a safe. You will
able to read it in almost all image viewers.
Or you can do this with command line, oh sure.
