Vista buffers of course use the bounding box of an object, not its impossible
to determine real position when eliminating too close objects. This is how
vista buffers work and thus if you don't want them to work, you have to turn
them off. Or, place your object far enough in front of the camera as the
distance doesn't make a visible difference for an orthographic camera...
