ah hah! thats it! thanks! i was messing with a wood pattern
too and couldn't figure it out. i just tried 90 degree rotations
until it came out right, but i didn't understand why it worked
until now.
a couple months ago i posted asking for a texture for some-
thing and somebody said, "make your own. its the only way
to get what you want." well i tried that, and although i'm a
newbie, i sense that developing good textures is an advanced
skill.
