What version of POV-Ray are you running ?

What operating system and version ?

Do other programs you have on your system perform sluggishly or does
everything appear ok ?

What kind of scene are you rendering ?

a.) simple
b.) in between
c.) complicated

Does it use advanced features such as media, lots of reflections, or radiosity ?

Any other information that you can provide that may give a clue as to
what may be happening ?
