This reminded me about the POV-PRO I used some. Using the DOS platform,
called version 3.02.proton, and made by Vadim .V Sytnikov, that thing could
render at surprisingly fast rates. A bare bones POV, image display was
ASCII text only (which looked interesting). IIRC I saw 25 to 50% render
times compared to the POV-Ray for Windows 3.02, depending on the type of
scene.
Btw, I thought I actually had version 3.0 at one time so sorry about
including that before.
