Nor is the idea of patched versions of POV-Ray. When I first got a modem
and found the "Call me Ray BBS" I found several 2.2 patches that offered
speed enhancements over the official version plus the other better known
feature enhancement patches. POV-Ray v3.0 was also heavily dependent upon
user submitted patches.
