The JPEG format has no provision for an alpha channel. Neither does GIF, but in
GIF you can designate one color index as transparent. Most browsers should
support this, however it is not the same as an alpha channel - there is only
100% transparent or 100% opaque.
PSP should be able to manipulate GIF transparency.
