Less typing?
If you have:
x-povray -w800 -h600 +a0.1
and you want to replace that '+' with a '-' you have to type 6 keystrokes
(4 left-cursors, 1 backspace, 1 '-').
However, if you just delete the "+a0.1" you'll have to type only 5
keystrokes (5 backspaces).
After this, adding the "+a0.1" again requires 5 keystrokes, while converting
the '-' back to '+' requires 6 keystrokes.
