| looks better. have you looked at the movie twister lately? i'm sure
| you could get ideas from that. if you have a dvdrom drive, there are
| ways to get still images from dvds to your computer so you can study the
| effects upclose. i have about 3000 images from star trek first contact
| spanning about 3 and 1/2 minutes. it's very enlightening. since i'm
| working on the xwing right now, i wish star wars was on dvd. vhs just
| doesn't cut it for closeup comparisons. anyway, good luck with the
| tornado, i'm interested to see how far you take it.
If I could ever get the individual parts to not work against each other
I might make some headway with it. The 3 media containers
have to become very dense in order to block all else, yet the color
goes black. I've seen Twister and recall how dark those tornadoes
were in it, makes one wonder... obvious from many real life ones
that they can appear very light gray sometimes, except for the ground
dust plumes.
I've taken DVD stills from War of the Worlds so I could use them to
compare with my Martian War Machine model I had done years ago.
Never have gone back into that to adjust on it. I think you're right, that
can make for a great method when trying to copy such things.
