Subject: IRTC eliminates dimension limit for still images
Date: Thu, 20 Apr 2000 02:35:36 -0700
The Internet Ray Tracing Competition is pleased to announce the removal of the
dimension restriction on still images. Effective immediately, still images
may be submitted with any width and height, and are not limited to 800x600 as
before. See the updated stills rules for details, at
http://www.irtc.org/stills/rules.html
Updates to the multi-language rules translations will be added soon.
Some notes:
* The 250kb image file size limit is still in effect. That is now the only
limit on image size, however.
* Understand that the judges haven't all rushed out and bought huge monitors,
so larger images may meet with some prejudice during judging. Just as
entrants should keep that fact in mind, so the judges should make a
reasonable effort to view larger, wider, taller images to their best
advantage.
We hope that this expansion of the rules will enable artists to express
themselves more fully and increase everyone's enjoyment of the competition.
