Hi Missi welcome to our newgroups,

As far as freeware programs go that is a bit difficult to answer.
For POV-Ray the program Moray appears to be the favorite program of
choice but it is a low cost shareware program instead of freeware.
As far as I know it is the best maintained program supporting POV-Ray
around and has more features than any of the others out there. You
can download a fully functional trail version if it interests you.

If that does not suit your purposes there are others that are free.
Instead of listing them all here and trying to discuss their individual
merits I think the best thing for you to do is check out the POV-Ray
modellers section of the links page at http://www.povray.org/links/ .
I have listed there many different POV-Ray dedicated modellers as well
as many utility programs that can help you create specific shapes or
objects for use in your scenes. Be sure to check out the program sPatch.
Even those that have Moray will have that program too because it is
really good for making complex shapes with.

As you are new around here may I please suggest that you read the
"welcome to the news server" announcement I posted in the
announcements group on this server. It offers suggestions on our
posting guidlines for these groups, where to find programs, tutorials,
and other information that you may find of interest.

Feel free to browse our other news groups and join in on our discussions.
I think you will find that we are a friendly community and a lot can be
learned by reading the different groups on this server. Do not hesitate
to ask a question about how to do something in POV-Ray. I doubt you
will find another news server anywhere with the kind of peer support
that is offered here and your question will be answer usualy within
one day.

Regards,
