If only I could read Bill's mind, mind, mind...

How about: http://home.pb.net/%7Estevecox/uvmapper.htm

UVMapper

Have you ever said to yourself "I'd love to use this Wavefront model I found
on the web, but it doesn't have a texture map, and without a program like
Detailer or Painter I can't figure out how to color it?" Well if you have,
then UVMapper is the program for you.

 Features:

 * UVMapper is a Windows 95 (or better) texture map template creation
   utility.
 * There is now a PowerMac version available!
 * It will import/export Wavefront (obj) files and output 256 color Windows
   bitmap (bmp) files.
 * The user may specify the dimensions of the bitmap file from 1 x 1 pixels
   up to 8192 x 8192 pixels.
 * Create fully UV mapped primitives completely to your specification.
 * Preview the texture map template before exporting it to a bitmap file.
 * Apply texture maps to any OBJ model, even if it has no texture coordinate data.

This program is freeware. You have the right to use it for personal or
commercial purposes. You do not have the right to redistribute it without
written permission from the author, or to modify it in any way.
