  I used distance maximum 1 in my test images and they look quite good.
Lowering it to less than 1 slows down the rendering.

down raytracing. Keep it round 150 if not doing scenes with lots of small
objects that are emitting light."

  Well, with the images in my "radiosity test 2"-page using a count of
150 makes them quite awful.
