	There are some tricks for "faking" it but no way to really do
it. 

	Consider the circular shadow. Which of an infinite number of
ellipses with the long axis towards the light is it a shadow of?
Then consider all the other possible shapes with a circular cross
section between the light and the shadow? 

	With a 2D image you simply do not have the 3D information to
resolve the infinite possibilities in all (I think) cases.
