No, it's the middle - think about it - earth's time zone's go from
GMT-12.00 to GMT+12.00, so GMT is at the _middle_ of the scale. Somewhere on
the opposite side of the planet (around about Eniwetok, Kwajalein, Auckland,
Wellington, Fiji, Kamchatka or the Marshal Is, according to my Win98
timezone selector) is at the beginning/end of earth time.
