OK Ken, as was wanted, I have done a little demo for you. It's not very
good, I only spent 30 minutes on it (and I wasn't willing to rerender,
because I had a Math C assignment to do!!!).
Anyway, you can find it at:

It uses a simple emitting particle system. Each particle generates a
"media" cloud around it. I'm not really happy with the flow of it (it looks
almost bouncy...) and it's too thick, but anyway, have a look and tell me
what you think. If you want any more info on it I'll be happy to provide it
:)
BTW, when I get the time, I'll do some kind of object falling into a dusty
area so you can see my dust flow method...
