My sPatch advice is:

1. Use it for simple, cute objects. It can make marvelously wonderful
shapes with about 15 minutes and 150 keystrokes. If you spend 2 hours
refining and refining and refining an object, you [at least I do] will
end up with a model that looks worse and worse.

2. Try making everything out of lathes. For example, make a human head
by making a profile of one side of the head. Then lathe it and make
adjustments from there!

3. (Repeat) make things cute and simple! Break into many little
different parts!
