Peter Popov, Sofia, Bulgaria
How about this: my name is very common, I can think of at least 15
languages that have it, and it sounds in 15 different ways. Not to
mention that my family name , when pronounced by an English speaker,
sounds like 'Poh-pov, (the accent falling on the first, therefore the
wrong syllable,) means, in Bulgarian, "more povish" :) as "po-" is our
equivalent of "more" in English
And hey, no flames about pee-oh-vees and pohvs and so.
Regards,
Peter
