The difference is not that you see it _before_, but that you see it
alone. 
At least for me, I can enjoy an image much more, when I see it alone,
not 
in this overwhelming mass of images you get in one zipped IRTC-round.
Although I am enjoying every picture on it's own it is work for me to 
vote or just see through _all_ of them.

I do think that pre-releasing gives an advantage, but as this is not
professional 
sports, the fun-increase I get seeing one before several hours after
deadline 
is worth a lot more for me. 

(I tend to check ftp.irtc.org every 30 min. when I 
can't wait any longer, only this round I will boykot Deutsche Telekom on
Sunday 
the 1st, as there is a national internet-strike that day, we want
cheaper connections
from the quasi-monopolist.)
