Couldn't you render different "slices" of the image on different
computers, and "glue" them together after rendering? I know this isn't
the optimum solution, but it might be of some use to you.
It should also be possible to help this task along with a simple batch
file, or a simple C program that controls the splitting, rendering,
and gluing process.
