I am not sure how you could reach the conclusion that admitting that we as
organizers did not give artists enough time would insult the artists.  So
you are not misinterpreting my statement, you misunderstood it completely!

I think rben was referring to the "create as impressive images as we had
imagined..." part more than "not give artists enough time".  I can see that
the purpose of this competition is to create something really impressive
with Povray, but like all other competitions, the outcome should be based
on the relative quality of the entries. Please don't take me wrong but I
think it is hard to keep a balance between the two.

I only wrote one sentence, and I was referring to the whole.  Also, maybe it
should be pointed out that "imagined" is not a synonym for "expected" in
case the misunderstanding was based on a language problem.
