I am looking for John van Sickle's Rock.inc . His site seems to be down, and
searching on the web has not given any results. Does anybody still have a
copy to share??

Thanks a lot!!

Thomas

As you will see, or have seen, I sent a MakeRock.inc to you. No idea if
that's the one John VanSickle did or not and it's always possible it got
changed while being with me. I'll let you decide. He was just posting at the
p.t.s-f group, so maybe you could e-mail him.

I think the attached file is the one you are looking for.

This is perfect!! Thanks a lot Bob and Ken!
The two versions are somewhat different. I tried out Bob's already and it
works perfectly. One nice addition is the file handling and write
possibility to a mesh file. Very useful.
I still have to try out Ken's version at this moment.
As I already told Bob in reply to his mail, the other utility that I have is
PovRockGen.exe, a standalone utility by Stephen Pigeon. It writes also to
mesh files.

Well, now the luxury to chop at rocks through subtly different means! So
what? I also have two different geological hammers in real life!

You are welcome.

There is also a third utility available. Bob's POV-Ray Rock tool has a nice
graphical interface for generating rocks of various types. You can check
out the announcement for it here - http://tinyurl.com/32d9y

Different Bob, of course. Maybe I should read c.g.r.r. more often. That was
posted in September, not a real long time ago. Think I'll try it out, so
thanks Ken!

For what it's worth:
Makerock.inc (Bob Hughes) and rock.inc (Ken Tyler) are subtly different
versions of John Van Sickles'
I put them together in the zip file. just run Makerock.pov.

Thanks also for making me aware of that java utility for making rocks. There
are now four ways to achieve that end (and probably more, for the compulsive
collector ;-))
