Well I've finally got this patch to the point where people can start
alpha testing.
This patch is applied to the superpatch 3.1e with my toroidal pattern
(as posted earlier).
To use it run POV-ray with options such as
+fd +kfi0 +kff50 +w50 +h50
This will produce a 50x50x50 density file.
Since the dump format, which used the 'd' option isn't supported any
more, I've taken the liberty of using it for density file output.
You can insert 'slices' into a file by using the subset frame options,
+sfn and +efn and in fact this is how you finish an aborted render.
Please try to break this patch and let me know of any bugs.
BTW. you may have to fiddle with the make file, I played with it before
I added the df3 files, so it may not patch properly. I'm fairly new to
diff and patch.
I've also attached the files I've used to test the patched version.
Cheers, PoD.

Ok I've put a Linux binary (i386 Elf) at
http://www.merlin.net.au/~pod/x-povray (that's the file, not a
directory). Sorry can't do binaries for any other platform.
Cheers, PoD.

I may make an attempt at Mac and Windows versions, but it may be a
while.
