Have you looked at Lumion? I've used it for years to run quick fly throughs. The
HDI lighting and plant lib is nice - but pricy. The post effects are applied to
the rendered frame. Attached is a Revit model imported as FBX into Lumion. Bugs
are modeled in Sculptris. The FX layering is done in 'real-time' through the
camera view.

Yes, I've seen it, it gives very good results for a serious price for
professional architectures. From time to time I'm scanning network for
news in CG, reading reviews, installing demos, just to be informed.

Yeahh .., it reminds me of the days, when I was working at Institute of
General Architecture Planning, before 'perestroyka' (country crash in
1992). I did similar things there, but using other, now outdated
software. Now CG is only my hobby, unfortunately, no one here wants to
pay for serious graphics projects, except gamedev, maybe, but I don't
like games.

You are happy, working with such interesting things :)

I can't afford most of the softwares either. I suspended my Autodesk account
when I retired. I own an old version of Max and AutoCAD. I do miss Revit
modeling. All perimetric BIM.

I can relate some to this as well. Ofc, my highest respects and appreciation go
to everyone with those mad and otherworldly skills for creating jaw-dropping
photorealistic images, but personally - and especially in my own works - I tend
to prefer certain old-school, "lo-fi" and (early) 90's touch for looks and
technical execution, and "gamey", dreamy, abstract and surreal etc. when it
comes to the artistic side. I like to think it this way: why to limit ourselves
in simulating and replicating the boring reality, while we've got all the tools
and possibilities to take our creations far beyond the wildest dreams? :)

This is exactly what I mean, in painting world I'm prefer surrealism and
impressionism, now we have rendering, which extends our possibilities.
