Please, avoid tumbleweed. They'll remove the alien world feeling.

Yes, that's true... perhaps for really alien looking vegetation, he
should take a look at the desert regions in Satisfactory... there are
many videos about that game on YouTube!

See you in Khyberspace!

These are great scenes, the sky/atmoshphere is great, I have never tried any
Star Wars scenes before would love to give it a go some time. You have certainly
nailed Tatooine. (actually, I think when I first discovered Povray in the
early/mid 90's I did try to do an X-Wing, I am sure it was terrible and
fortunately have 'lost' the files).

Ooh, that's really nice, I love the mood in this shot!

Maybe make the water noise/bumps/wrinkles (whatever they are) a bit larger?
And/or use a pigment pattern to break up the uniformity?

exactly... this was just the quick 1st stab at it. was playing with
blender landscape add-on and anxious too see if worth moving forward.

currently using:

function{ f_ridged_mf(x, y, z, 0.07, 2.2,  7, 0.6, 0.9, 1)}

with a call inside a plain old normal statement

btw: not a moon...
