Still the same problems with the light, hf and textures, but now with a
road and
a fence. Unfortunately the tree masks the perspective enhancing effect of
the road and the fence going over the hills...
Suggestions?

Why not move the tree up the road a bit (towards the viewer)?

It's looking good, what David suggests with the tree might be interesting.

David suggested moving the tree up the road. What about moving it to the top
of the hill on the cemetery. I don't know if this would add or detract from
the feeling you want to create, but it might work.

Thank you for the comments...
Moved the tree a bit... to the right and towards the viewer. Better, but
not by much. Will try some other positions later. but right now I have
become disgusted with the macros I use for the road and the fence, and will
redo them. Maybe then I'll be able to give the road proper banks.

I like the overall image very much: it has IMO a lot of potential. The
only thing that strikes me is the fact that it seems a bit bleak. Some
mist is nice, but it seems to be enveloped in a light fog, everywhere
the same.
Just my 2 eurocents...

The bleakness is intentional, though I am sort of tempted to take the sunny
approach. Might be a nice contrast. :)
Next: Rework the road.

Hmm... I don't know. I kinda like the tree overhanging the fence. At
any rate I think it should stay on its current side of the road; on one
side is life and the other death.

...I guess that's one interpretation. The theme I have in mind has more to
do with the cycle of life and death, though. :)
Well, a drastic remake is in the works... I am making a set of spline and
mesh macros to create a better road and fence. Expect an update in a week
or so.

Well, whatever, I was making the symbolic "interpretation" fit my
spatial idea, not vice-versa. The point was just that I like the tree
on its current side of the road. :-)
