I decided to make an animation for the E4 stings contest, I thought I'd share it
here because it might interest some people:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdFIYHzpoUI

I've got a few tricks to get the render time down (since I wanted to do a 720p
render in just a couple of days). The atmosphere isn't scattering, the shadow
effect is achieved by a CSG difference with a stretched, sheared copy of the E4
logo. The ground was an isosurface, but I replaced that with a couple of
(surprisingly low-res) height_fields. And there's only 1 light in the scene, the
interiors just use emission. The trees and people are isosurfaces, but they're
fast because they're quite small.

Anything else people want to know about, just ask!

Nice! But it seems the scale does not match between the two views.

The E4 logo, atmosphere and clouds are the same in both views. The only
difference is I'm not drawing all the detailed objects in the view from space.
