Hi,
Gilles Tran's GTTree plugin crashes both Moray3.3 and Povray3.5.Works fine
with scenes without the plug, as also when using Megapov (with the plugin)
Pretty bad crash at that - I have to use Ctl-Alt-Del to close them. Any
ideas?
Regards,
-Anoop

Hi Anoop,
Hmmm, at the moment I'm using a pre-release of the SDK so I can't tell, I
don't think it crashed with Pov3.5 V.10 but as I say it's a different
compile :-( For the moment you will have to wait for the next Version of
Moray. Presumably this only happens when you try to render? Try just
exporting the pov file and then rendering by hand, let me know what the
error message is in Povray.
Best Regards,
Keith

Hi anoop, you recently wrote in moray.win:

I assume by crash you mean a freeze, i.e. both programs no longer
respond? Not a crash with a Windows error dialog.
If that is the case, POV-Ray is probably running into a parser error.
Try this workaround from a previous article in this newsgroup:
When POV-Ray encounters an error in the POV file that Moray has fed
it, it currently hangs and cannot be recovered, Moray goes into
slow-motion mode.
Workaround is to disable the following two menu items in POV-Ray:
Editor|Auto-Load Error File
Editor|Auto-Show Parse Messages
This will make POV-Ray not crash. You can still see the error message
in the message pane of POV-Ray.

Hi Keith,
Thanks. Will do that. Rereading the previous post to mine (about patch
trouble) I think it could be a problem with patches (changed syntax). Bezier
patches, as also objects imported through Hamaptch also badly crash Povray
3.5. (And slow down Moray to a crawl, even after C-A-D ing Povray.)
Thanks again,
-anoop

Hi Lutz,
Thanks. Will try that. Should have thought of it earlier (since I remember
reading it - vaguely - earlier)
And, yes, you're right - it's a freeze, not a crash.

You were right. Two reasons: First, I'd forgotten to copy the required
maketree files to the Povray 3.4 include folder (!!!) Second, a line
(version unofficial Megapov 0.6) had to be commented out of the maketree.pov
file. Works fine now.
Tha problem with sPatch export was probably the problem with the last beta
and patches; I'll try it today. Maybe, with the changes Lutz suggested,
it'll work.
Thanks very much, both.
