The clue is the snippet from the post above. So it cannot find the include
file. I too had this problem. It was solved by navigating to
Edit>Preferences, selecting the Scenes tab or button in the POV-Ray Application
Preferences, clicking "Add..." and navigating to where you installed POV-Ray,
selecting the "include" folder and click open.

At this point you may wish to also un-check the checkbox on the "Files" tab of
that same dialog that reads "Allow rendering of ".pov" files only" as this
trips up folk who don't save to files with explicit .pov extensions.

Close the dialog and restart POV-Ray.

Now the Benchmark will run after you restart. Note that on my G4 PowerBook the
benchmark took over 70 minutes to run. It does not render an image... just
spits out stats.

Try entering into a new file the very simple example in the help file and saving
it. Now you should be able to render it and see it display in the POV-Ray
preview. When you successfully render, the program save the image in the same
folder as the source .pov file you just save as a "pict" image file.
