I am getting the follwing error when trying to run allstill.ini and
images.ini
and can't seem to work out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Possible Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Could not find file
'OBJECT.POV'.

regards.
Jarrod.

Hi there Jarrod, I think the allanim.ini and allstill.ini are just holdovers
from earlier versions, they demonstrate how to use commands.

The utility tga2gif.exe is no longer distributed with POV-Ray, likewise
neither is exist.exe. Allanim.ini used dta.exe which never was a part of
POV-Ray, same about the zip creation INI's using pkzip.exe. Basically I
think it was decided to keep these INI files around for the ability to use
them if you yourself get those program files which are needed or modify
things to do something else.
I'm mostly guessing about the how and why of all this though, not
remembering the discussions there might have been during beta testing.

If you look at Scene Help section 5.2.4 Shell-out Commands you'll see the
examples used for those files there as well. Unfortunately, I didn't notice
anyplace saying the programs are not present, rather implies you would be
using external programs and not ones contained with POV-Ray. Seems to me it
had been stated somewhere, although I am not seeing anything at the moment.

The Insert Menu\images.ini file, if that is what you had tried, will render
alone but you must then choose a section at a time with it acting as its own
INI. It only brings up that object.pov error when you try to run the file
without it being the INI used on itself. I hope that made sense.

Thanks.

I figured it out. I just used the re-render insert menu option to do
images.ini.

To do the AllStill, I just queued up all of the .pov files and ran them
individually.
