Old graphic card like what? AGP 1x? Older PCI card? Integrated video
with shared memory? Wrong video drivers? NOT having hardware
acceleration enabled?

I just hate the picture and fax viewer. It's quite heavy and slow to
start, it takes a long time to load and display any image, and I don't
like the interface.
I use IrfanView instead. Free for personal use, lightweight, load and
display images in about any format in a snap, simple, sober interface.
