For those interested in building better Win32 exacutables of their patches
there is another free compiler in family of OpenWatcom, DMC, Borland, MinGW
and DJGPP. I did not tested it yet but see:

Thanks for the hint. According to the compiler status of the boost library
(http://boost.sourceforge.net/regression-logs/) this compiler is worth a
look.
