Hi,

I would like to know if there any MPI Patch for Povray 3.5/3.6 now?

Another question, is the .pov/.ini file of Povray 3.5/3.6 very different
from that of 3.1g? Is there any method to convert the 3.5/3.6 .pov/.ini
file to use on 3.1g?

Best regards,
John Lau

No, you can run almost any 3.1g file under 3.5/6. It may be though that in
some occasions the results differ a bit. Check out the #version feature in
the docs.

So, can I run 3.5/6 file under 3.1g? If I don't want any new features in
3.5/6?

POV-Ray files are *text* files! If you had just looked into a POV-Ray file
or any POV-Ray related website you would have known. You should really read
the user manual.

You can try. POV-Ray will generate errors when it doesn't like the code
and you can change it to what 3.1 accepts. In the 3.5 documentation was a
list with changes that can help you predict what will work an what not.

It is not unreasonable to assume the language might not be backwards
compatible.
