Awhile back, there was discussion about some versions of POV optimized for
the AMD chips with 3D Now. It could only be done with textures, as I
recall, because those are single precision, but even so produced noticeable
speed ups.
I've currently got a very complex set of textures and a very slow scene, and
I'd like to try this to see if it helps. Does anyone know where I can get
this version of POV? Actually, I need MegaPOV, if available, but the
optimizations should be the same either way.

See the '3D!Now' thread from 'Sat, 27 Jan 2001 11:06:06' for details. The
version Daniel Jungmann made (generic povray 3.1) didn't work correctly on
a K6 so i wasn't able to test it in detail.

If you can no more reach Daniel i can mail you the copy he sent me
(including source if you want to adapt it to megapov). But it only works
with the MS-compiler.

I hope to be purchasing an AMD Athlon some time soon. Could you put up a
binary on your page for us? :)

I will try to contact Daniel Jungmann on that matter, since i won't be
able to supply support for it, i would prefer if he could put it
somewhere.
