In Megapov's glow statement is there any way to make it a different shape
other then a sphere. ex: something like a cylinder, or square

First: it isn't a sphere, it is a point.
And to answer your question: not in the current version, though you can 
approximate shapes by using several glows. A future version will allow 
glows to be applied to objects, but it will be a while.
