The 'top' pattern of the sphere is strange: I would have expected to see
the sky.
It seems that you have a line of discontinuity on the picture
going from the top left to the bottom right.
Could you put a mirror behind (3/4) the twisted sphere ?
(When I talked about the reflection, it was reflection OF the object,
not ON the object, sorry for the misunderstanding).

This is me. I have modified default scene with default camera
center of sphere is 0 but location of camera has 0.5 as y

I'm not sure it is is line of discontinuity.
I have meet some strange results on some images
but always when I parsed them with trace() and puted cylinders along normals
everything appears ok.
The main problem with this misunderstand belongs to twisting.
