To whom it may concern.
I have made an unofficial patch of Povray.
New features:
- Stereomodes for easy rendering 3D-images...
For more information look at:

What's the difference between this and the ultra-wide-angle or panoramic

Very nice ! I tought about such a feature sometimes, and I'm glad
someone did it !
I can't see the difference with cylindrical camera, but I micght
miss something.
The "frame" rendering option is very interesting too, and might
be usefully applied to any projection type..

I was asked what the difference between the RoundView and the cylindrical
camera is.
Calculation based on optical cameramodels won't work.
By using the RoundView - camera, you will have a correct stereoimpression
everywhere.
(The algorithmn is based on the optical capabilities of the human eyes.)

about the cylindrical camera, a couple weeks ago, i posted a question in
.general and never got any answers. i was trying to get a 360 degree
view that looked like a panorama. i want to be able to specify how tall
it is. when i have tried using the demo pov files specifically for the
cylindrical camera, i don't get what i expect. for more, read my post
from 7/25.

The RoundView camera sounds like the spherical camera in MegaPOV. Have
you compared the two?

Did you try this with the latest version of MegaPov. There was a bug in
POV-Ray's cylinder cameras relating to aspect ratio.
