I am recently playing around with bicubic patches. I found that they
consumed much memory in official POV 3.1g, so I looked in the docs for
MegaPOV 0.5, and tadaaaa there is an improved bicubic_patch. What used
to take tens of MB of memory now took a few hundred k. Then I wanted to
try uv_mapping with an image_map. I can get the uv_mapping to work for
type 1 (ie the original kind), but for type 2 the patch is the same
colour, which looks like the colour of one of the corner points of the
image_map. The docs mention uv_vectors <start>, <end>, which I tried,
but no matter where I put that statement, it would never get past the
parsing. I will post an image to the images group showing two patches
(they are flat for clarity), the lower left is type 2 accuracy 0.001,
the upper right is type 1 flatness 0.001 u_steps 4 v_steps 4
