Hi,
Just downloaded MegaPov 0.4 and was going to the help file.
In the enabling megapov features, have I read it right that I have to
include the version # syntax line in all my scene and all my include
fill??
Just want to be clear on it.
Thanks Brian

I think you read that right, but I don't really understand why. I
mean, if you're using Megapatch, isn't it obvious you want to use
Megapatch features? And if you don't it will still render the same
(except for radiosity), or wouldn't it?

As I understand it the reason they have forced you to use the #version
directive is exactly because it is a patched version of the program.
Many people are using this patch now instead of the official version
of the program. These same people using the patch are also sharing
their source files with other people. The problem occurs whem people
who are not using the patch try to use the "special" features of the
patch in the official version but they do not work. So by forcing
the #version directive anyone who attempts to use it will be able
to identify why the "special" features are not working in the official
version of the program.

Ken hit the nail on the head. This is done to make the lives of the
POV-Team easier.
An added benefit is that editors that handle syntax highlighting can easily
identify an unofficial version and then have the option of highlighting the
new keywords.
