Hi !

I just ported POV-ray v3.1g to QDOS/SMS (Sinclair QL and compatible
computers operating system). I would like to submit it to the POV-ray
team for inclusion into the official POV-ray distribution, but I can't
find any address of someone responsible for this in the team. Could
someone help please ?

PS: if you are curious about QDOS/SMS, go to http://qdos.cjb.net

Man oh man, I havn't seen one of those QL's in years. I actually had one,
but
gave it away. I thought that I was over missing SuperBasic, but just the
mention
of that machine has me thinking of it again.

Hi, Thierry. Have you read Povlegal.doc, which is included with every
POV-Ray distribution? POV-Ray has historically been ported to a number of
operating systems as unofficial builds (the POV-Team encourages this) but
they only provides official distributions when they can offer technical
support. I believe that you must distribute your port as an unofficial
compile, compliant within the guidelines set forth in Povlegal.doc, and
provide technical support for this port.

I will forward your post to the POV-Team.

Yes, I did...

I am ready to offer technical support for the QDOS/SMS version !

I am doing this (in fact since years as I already ported DKB trace
v2.12 and POV v2.2 before), but I would like to make the QDOS/SMS
specific source a part of the official distribution (there is now
a QDOS/SMS compatible system, the Q40, with 65536 colours support)...

Anyway thanks for your reply !

Big mistake ! ;-)

There are plenty of QL emulators available (some of them free) and you
can now run QDOS/SMS on almost any plateform (PC, MAC, AMIGA, ATARI,
UNIX station)...
