We try to provide those of you who don't compile MegaPOV with the best
possible binairies. 
Of course, we can only use the tools available to us.

We have prepared an alternative Windows GUI executable with MetroWerks
CodeWarrior 9.2.
This is highly experimental, but preliminary tests show that it performs
good, certainly compared to other binaries we can offer.

However, if we want to distribute this version as a final compile we
need to be sure that it is stable.
For this purpose we need some brave POVers who have no fear for the
unknown :-)

To those of you who want to give us a hand we ask to download
megapov-1.1-beta_windows-mw.zip at
http://megapov.inetart.net/download.html and try it out.

We are interested in speed results, compared to whatever version you can
compare it with, and we need to know if this version works without
problems and on what Windows version(s) you used it.

Please note that not many test have been done yet, so you might be in
for a surprise (read: immediate crash):-)

If you decide to help, please send all your findings, no attachments, to
meg### [at] megapovinetartnet.

If there any reason why you cannot use the free Visual Studio command-line
tools?

Abx wil know more, we had some problems for this beta release but I
think it can be used.

Main reason for our survey is that we want to test this new possibility.
Like I said before, first test results look very promising.

So they don't support something like a seven year old system?  Hmm, you
should not buy a Macintosh then, Apple has started to discontinue support
for anything but the latest system version when they introduced Mac OS X
10.1 <sigh>

Anyway, eventually you will need to get a more recent version of Windows, I
doubt M$ will improve support for NT 4.0 in the future ;-)

We have a new version ready for testing.

Only the Metrowerks version of WinMegaPOV is updated.
It is still Beta version 1.1 like the other builds.
