Try DAZ|Studio. It can do most what Poser 3 could (and some more). It eats
Poser Objects and can spit out .obj files. You can download it from
www.daz3d.com

It does way more than DS and it's now free.

I saw this thread and it sounded interesting. Well, I tried. I don't
think it's going to happen though. I signed up at their site with my email
address and everything. They require an email verification. That'd work
better if I had their email in my inbox after almost 3 hours. If you try
logging in anyway you get:
"Login Not Verified
You have not clicked the activation link that was emailed to you when you
registered.
If you would like to have the activation link resent, please enter your
email below."
So I've done that twice. Nothing new in junk-mail either.
Hmmmmmm. Frustrating.

It does work... their email is just very slow to come.
Next you "buy" Poser 5, then check out... and when starting to
download it states the server is overrun so please delay by a few
hours before trying again...

Thanks. Do you know how long you have to get something downloaded (30 days
hopefully) after you "buy" it? I've got a slow connection.

It's available indefinitely after you buy it. Here's the response I get since their
servers are
busy:
>>>snip>>>
Due the the high demand for the Poser 5 free download your download has been delayed
temporarily
please wait several hours before attempting to download again.
We apologize for the inconvenience however your Poser 5 free download will remain
available to you
through the MyStuff tab indefinitely.
