I have found that mosaic preview doesn't seem to work in the Superpatch.
It produces a monochrome screen with occasional flickers and no useful
information, absurd progress readings and a large delay in rendering.
This doesn't seem to depend on the scene file. "Vanilla" 3.1 scene
files with no Superpatch extensions used show the same effect. Once
regular rendering starts, the results are as expected, however. Is this
related to the use of the 3.01 Windows code?

I'll take a look at this, but I think I'll do it after the 3.1 editor
source is officially released and I've merged it in. That way, if it
is a 3.01<=>3.1 thing, I won't have to do any work to fix it. :)
I do know that I didn't change anything having to do with mosaic
preview directly.

Now that I have my grubby paws on a copy of the preliminary 3.1 source, I
can tell you that it is indeed an artifact of using the 3.0x code. My
personal build with the 3.1 editor and other 3.1a bugfixes doesn't show
this problem.
