I took about a thousand pictures on a weekend vacation. I'd gladly delete 80%
of them that could be shown by any software's algorithm to be blurry.

Q: Anyone know of any software that could do this? (I'm guessing I could rig
something up using povray, but it would be too much of a headache.)

What kind of a success rate are you looking at? Easiest method is to delete
the smalles (in terms of filesize) 800 images. OTOH, going through 1000
images one by one should only take around 15 mins, so unless you can code an
algorithm nearing 100% efficiency in 15mins, manual method is the best.

(*) Assuming files are JPEG of course.

I don't think you'd get a very high success rate, unless the software was
*really* clever. Just by calculating the "blurryness" of an image wouldn't
help much, eg a slightly out of focus shot of a very detailed scene would be
hard to differentiate from a perfectly in focus photo of a cloudy sky or
similar.

You could always get a tripod, or use a faster shutter speed :-)
