Seriously, what is it with their search page today? Every time I open 
it, my PC slows to a crawl as hundreds of coloured dots dance around the

like confetti?  perhaps because it's Brazil's Independence Day they thought of
carnival? :p

But it doesn't show up in Firefox.  or perhaps it was just bad, slow javascript
removed?

It showed up in my firefox, but not on my wife's computer (proxied thru her 
work).  I suspect either you're seeing a proxy-cached home page or Google 
only put it on some of their servers as some sort of test perhaps.

Did you try clicking on it? Clicking on the google logo usually takes you to 
a google search explaining why.

I thought it must be flash or something at first because it doesn't seem to work
on all our machines here. However:
