Car crashes. Now 80% more dangerous.

I wonder how ugly this car looked *before* he stuck a load of crud to it?

It probably crashes all the time. Old motherboards are like that. ;-)

SW... :)

Doesn't really come out of software - greebles have been a staple of SF
ever since, even long before CG were used.

Um... yes, ok, I see :-)

Though Star Wars "only" made them particularly popular - they didn't
"come out of" it.

really? What before? Flash Gordon? :/

hmm, come to think of it, comic book legend Jack Kirby used a lot of
greebles in Galactus' devices... in the 60s!

Take /any/ Sci-Fi spaceship, building, robot, android, spacesuit,
weapon, or other gadget - you'll find stuff "that looks cool but doesn't
actually do anything" on virtually all of them in varying density.

2001: A Space Odyssey, anyone?

Even '74 trash Sci-Fi movie "Dark Star" had greebly stuff on the bomb,
for instance.

Just two random examples.

(Though the Star Wars crew apparently did indeed coin the term "greeble")
