It has been quiet today - guess everyone's doing other things today. I
spent some time doing recovery on a dying 1 TB hard drive (hateful) and
assembling furniture from Ikea.

So you basically spent the day tracking down that one missing bolt that

Oh, I wish it were that simple. :-)
Unfortunately, I then had a second hardware failure last night - one of
my UPS' died. It's not been a good hardware month for me.
