The fact that until a year or two ago I'd never left the UK seems kind

I knew that, and I think you blogged or otherwise notified us of your
whereabouts. So I would be quite sure you had not visited here. Then
again not all British that have been to the Netherlands can remember that.
Of course it was meant as a tourist tip more than as a statement of a fact.
