I'm pretty sure sure this is impossible but ...
Is there a way of attaching a file held on a samba server to an email
that is being composed using gmail accessed through Firefox running on a
Linux desktop?
help would be much appreciated

I once uploaded a file on a remote ssh server to imageshack, without first
manually copying the file to my machine. Just typed the proper sftp:// URL
in the "file to upload" box.

KDE ioslaves are so handy :)

(PS: the ssh server was my iPod touch :P)
