Hello,

Attached is an image depicting the font in question. What is it? I'm
supposed to be making a letterhead for a friend, but I feel I need to
clean up the logo, which means attaining the proper font. I can't just
paste the image into the letterhead, without "fixing" it first. Thanks
in advance~

Sam

Looks like that comes as a TT font under Windows, too, with the same
name. No real need to spend $25 unless you want it for a linotype or
some such. :-)

That is indeed a close match. The E looks a bit different, but I can
extend the upper potion to match it. This will save me from having to
trace all the used characters. Thanks a lot!

Oh yeah, I always go for the free ones, especially for projects like
this one where I'm pretty much working pro bono.

That's the esselte version of papyrus : matches exactly
several free downloads

Looking a bit more closely, there is another variant of the Papyrus font
which I think may match better:

http://www.linotype.com/231069/papyrusbyitc-family.html

It's sometimes seems to be called `Papyrus EF' as it's published by
Elnser-Flake. Dunno if it's possible to use it without paying on
windows like the other papyrus variant though.

Ah yes, that looks much closer!

If I cannot find it for free, no matter. As it turns out, my friend
doesn't care much what font I use, as long as it looks good. In fact, he
was suggesting I use Times if I couldn't find a good replacement! Sure,
Times can look good if you tweak and bend it, but sheesh. Times...

If that's not a perfect match, then it's a pretty darned close one.

Thank you! It's frustrating trying to find a font. Someday there will be
image-based search engines, where you can feed an image in and get
results related to that image...

If you don't need additional letters, you could reproduce the ones that
are here using Fontshop's online editor, FontStruct:

I played around with it a little bit, seemed pretty easy to use.
